Valued Employee at NYF for 43 Years

Paramus, NJ- Each weekday morning, Stephanie Opanowick was greeted outside her Hackettstown, New Jersey home by a private car service to drive her to work by 7 a.m.-- compliments of her employer New York Fasteners Corp. (NYF ) in Paramus, NJ. As a valued employee of the fastener distributor's team since 1964, Opanowick was regarded by her peers across the industry as the expert in her field.

"This was a woman who has definitely left her mark as a loyal and dedicated individual and who set the pace for change as one of the first women in the fastener business," said NYF President, Roger Crosby. "Stephanie was a team player with comprehensive knowledge of the fastener industry, who was looked upon as a role model and a mentor at NYF."

Opanowick began her career at NYF's New York City office, located at 487 Broadway St. in the Soho district of Manhattan. She diligently worked as a sales representative and was soon named manager of the New York office where she remained for six years. In 1970, Opanowick transferred to the Paramus-based headquarters, where she continued her career. In her role as customer account manager, she not only provides vital telephone customer service support and its related research, sales and purchasing, she also resolves application engineering problems on behalf of NYF staff and customers.

Opanowick attended The Whitman Design School of Allied Arts and Traphagen, in NY and holds a GE Accomplishment Award. She enjoyed renovating her country home, playing the organ and painting when she is not at NYF -- where she made a difference each and every day.
